UL Lafayette Study Abroad Program

The UL Lafayette Study Abroad Program offers students the opportunity to learn in various international locations. Our programs range from two to six weeks abroad (some with additional class time in Lafayette), and offer credit towards a degree in all majors across the university with courses in a wide range of disciplines.

Each year we offer a wide variety of classes. The particular offerings depend on faculty proposals and student interest; the type of housing and other arrangements differ from program to program as well. All courses are designed to take advantage of the physical and cultural setting of the site location. Students must enroll in three to nine hours of class work, but they may audit if they prefer. Students from other universities or colleges can easily enroll for non degree credit and attempt to receive transfer credit from their home institution.

Students may also participate in exchange programs and receive UL Lafayette credit at the following sites: the French lmmersion program at the University of Ste. Anne in Nova Scotia, Canada; the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico and the Universidad de Cantabria in Santander, Spain. They can also learn more about participating in semester- and year-long study abroad opportunities offered through other Universities by consulting the Study Abroad office and their College Dean.

Additional information is available through the UL Lafayette Study Abroad Office: (337) 482-5438, studyabroad@louisiana.edu, or on-line.
