Application and Admission Process


For initial consideration for admission as a degree-seeking undergraduate, applicants are asked to provide the following documents based on their student type:

First-time freshmen: 

  • Online application for admission application
  • Application fee
  • High school transcript
  • ACT or SAT score report

Transfer students:

  • Online application for admission application
  • Application fee
  • Transcripts from all universities/colleges attended
  • High school transcript (if applicable)
  • ACT or SAT score report (if applicable)

Re-entry students:

  • Online application for admission application
  • Application fee
  • Transcripts from all universities/colleges attended other than UL Lafayette

International students:
Information outlined above based on student type, as well as:

  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Chronological Record of Education with all necessary supporting documents
  • Confidential Financial Guarantee with supporting bank statement
  • Copy of passport/visa documentation

Additional information may be required once an initial review of application documents is performed (i.e., senior schedule, etc.). In addition, if granted admission, applicants will be asked to provide Selective Service Registration (male applicants only) and satisfactory proof of immunization compliance before registering for class.

Application documents may be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by e-mail (admissions@louisiana.edu), mail (P. O. Box 41210, Lafayette, LA 70504) or fax (337-482-1317).  For the initial admissions review process, unofficial transcripts and test score reports may be utilized (except for RN to BSN applicants); however, if admission is granted, applicants must provide official, final transcripts and official test score reports to finalize any admissions decision. To be considered official, transcripts must be sent directly from the previous institution to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and test scores must be sent directly from the test provider to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
