First in a series of three courses (including 498, 499). Investigation of literature in a particular field of biology under supervision of a faculty member. Emphasis is on preparation for laboratory or field research; includes writing a research proposal. Prior to registering, the student must find a faculty member willing to supervise this project.
Restriction(s): Junior standing required, 8 hours of freshman biology with a grade of “C” or better
