Survey of materials intended for biological applications, materials for medical implants and appliances will be covered. Discussions of various aspects pertaining to the selection, processing, testing and performance of biomedical materials. The biocompatibility and applicability of metallic, polymeric, ceramic and other materials are discussed.
Prerequisite(s): CHEE 317 with a grade of “C” or better or permission from instructor.
