Overview of various routes of converting biomass to energy and fuels with special emphasis on thermochemical conversion of biomass/carbonaceous waste to energy, chemicals, and fuels. Understanding and knowledge of both mature and developing conversion technologies including gasification, pyrolysis, torrefaction, and hydrothermal conversion.
Prerequisite(s): ENGR 301 or approval of instructor.
