Secondary Education & Teaching Minor

All minors require a minimum of 18 credit hours with at least 6 credit hours at the 300/400 level. All course prerequisites, corequisites and restrictions apply.

To be admitted to a College of Education certification minor program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a candidate must present evidence of having fulfilled each of the following requirements:

Major: Upper Division major in either the College of Liberal Arts or the College of Sciences with emphasis on critical-need teaching areas for secondary grades 6-12

GPA: Cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.5

Praxis Exam: Passing scores on all 3 sections of the Praxis Pre-Professional Skills Test: Reading, Writing, Math OR ACT composite of 22 or better (or SAT composite of 1030 or better)
