The Graduate Certificate in Population Health provides focused training on solving healthcare problems by using data to implement quality initiatives based on proven theories and practices. Population health encompasses health outcomes and patterns of determinants of health as well as policies and strategies that link the two.
This certificate program is designed for healthcare professionals such as clinicians, healthcare administrators, health information managers, quality improvement experts, health IT specialists, analysts, and risk managers. It is especially suited for those from the disciplines of nursing, allied health, informatics, and business who work in the healthcare field.
The 12-credit-hour program is comprised of four graduate courses delivered in online, accelerated eight-week terms.
This graduate certificate is designed to be an enhancement, not a substitute, for a graduate degree. Students who complete the program will earn a graduate certificate that will appear on their permanent transcript. With the permission of the Dean of the Graduate School, it may be possible to pursue this graduate certificate program alongside another graduate degree program.
