ASL 328 - Literacy Development in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Populations Credit Hours: 3 Lecture Contact Hours: 3 Lab Contact Hours: 0 Overview of research, perspectives, and intervention approaches for developing language and literacy in young deaf and hard-of-hearing children. This course will also provide a foundation in the basic grammatical structure of ASL so that students can create a language and literacy rich environment for deaf or heard-of-hearing children. In addition, students will learn theory and practice related to the use of visual communication for DHH children who have limited access to spoken language.
