ASL 382 - Law and Policy in Educational and Clinical Settings Credit Hours: 3 Lecture Contact Hours: 3 Lab Contact Hours: 0 Overview of federal and state legislation that impacts deaf children in educational and clinical settings. This course will explore specific lawsuits that impacted deaf children’s access to communication and education. Students will learn to apply relevant legal principles to hypothetical situations typical of those that occur in schools that serve students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Students will be able to advise parents of deaf children about their child’s educational and communication rights.
