Examination of the history of evolutionary biology by studying key conflicting ideas in the field spanning from Darwin to today. Discussion of classic papers as well as paired current literature to decipher the debates that remain standing questions in evolutionary biology spanning both microevolution and macroevolution. Major topics include the modern synthesis, genetic basis of adaptation, tempo and mode of evolution, origins of novelty, molecular evolution, and plasticity and epigenetics.
