The Master of Science degree program in Computer Engineering is designed to prepare a person for a career in the computer design and application field. Areas of emphasis in the program include: Computer Design and System Architecture, Computer Networks and Communications, Internet and Network Security, Parallel and Distributed Computing, VLSI and system-on-chip Architectures, Robotics and Automation, Mobile and Wireless Communication, Visual and Image Computing, Intelligent Computing, Real-Time Systems, Virtual Reality, and Digital Entertainment Design and Development.

Prerequisites
The major prerequisite for the program is a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Students with a baccalaureate degree in other areas may be required to do background work before entering graduate study. A student must submit satisfactory GRE scores before admission to the M.S. program can be considered. For more specific information, prospective students should consult literature available from The Center for Advanced Computer Studies.
Course Requirements
Both a thesis and a project track are available. Under the thesis track, a student must successfully complete 24 hours of course work and must earn 6 hours of thesis credit. For the project track, a student must complete 33 hours of course work of which 6 hours are special project credit.
