Career Opportunities: Teaching, newspapers, magazines, publishing house, radio/TV, movie companies, publications, mass-market, paperback companies, corporations, government agencies

In order to meet University graduation requirements, each student must complete a minimum of 45 semester hours at the 300 and 400 levels.

Freshman Year (31 credit hours)


Note


** ENGL 101  and ENGL 102  do not count as hours toward the English major (See requirement #4 in Specific Degree Requirements of the College ).

Choose any two sophomore surveys (ENGL 201 , ENGL 202 , ENGL 205 , ENGL 206 , ENGL 215 ENGL 216 ); and one open-topic sophomore course (ENGL 210 , ENGL 211 , ENGL 212 ) or ENGL 321 , ENGL 322 , ENGL 371  for a total of 9 hours. Students eligible for ENGL 215  and ENGL 216  may take these courses instead of the soph. surveys.

Students who take ENGL 360  or ENGL 365  may count this course toward their major. They must take an additional free elective to make up the course hours.
