All minors require a minimum of 18 credit hours with at least 6 credit hours at the 300/400 level. All course prerequisites, corequisites and restrictions apply.
To be admitted to a College of Education certification minor program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a candidate must present evidence of having fulfilled each of the following requirements:

To complete the minor, a minimum of 80 hours of actual practice experiences in classrooms are required prior to Graduation.

The Secondary Education & Teaching minor only partially fulfills teacher certification requirements. If you are interested in completing all requirements for teacher certification, please contact the College of Education Office of Student Services at education@louisiana.edu. Additionally, no final grade below “C” is accepted for any professional education or specialized academic education course required for certification.
