Students must earn at least an overall 2.5 GPA and an overall 2.5 GPA in all major courses.

Praxis Exam Requirements: The requirements of the program are continually under examination and revision by the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE). The University reserves the right to make changes as required. All enrolled candidates are subject to these changes.
All required state licensure exams must be passed by established deadlines.

1 Students with MATH ACT of 19-20 take MTHS 105  and MTHS 105S .

9 credit hours of natural sciences are required, which includes BIOL 121  and at least 3 credit hours of Chemistry, Geology, or Physics; 6 of the 9 credit hours must be in the same science. Credit cannot be awarded for both GEOL 105  and GEOL 225 .
