The Bachelor of General Studies prepares qualified graduates to gain positions in a variety of industries: pharmaceutical, retail, petroleum, telecommunications, and healthcare to name a few. Some enter a variety of post-baccalaureate programs (e.g., teacher certification), professional programs (e.g., medicine, law, social work), or graduate programs such as counseling, psychology, speech pathology, engineering, public health, public administration, and business administration. |

Requirements
The Bachelor of General Studies is awarded upon completion of the following requirements: - General Education Core Curriculum (39 credit hours)
- Concentration (24 credit hours)
- Enrichment Area (36 credit hours)
- Enrichment Area 1 (12 credit hours)
- Enrichment Area 2 (12 credit hours)
- Enrichment Area 3 (12 credit hours)
- Electives (21 credit hours)
General Education Curriculum (39 credit hours)
English (6 credit hours)
Recommended completion in the Freshman Year. Mathematics (6 credit hours)
Recommended completion in the Freshman Year. History (3 credit hours)
Recommended completion in the Freshman Year. Social/Behavioral Sciences (6 credit hours)
Recommended completion in the Freshman Year. Natural Sciences (9 credit hours)
Recommended completion Freshman Year (3 credit hours), Sophomore Year (6 credit hours). Communication (3 credit hours)
Recommended completion in the Sophomore Year. English Literature (3 credit hours)
Recommended completion in the Sophomore Year. Fine Arts (3 credit hours)
Recommended completion in the Junior Year. Concentration (24 credit hours)
- Choose one Concentration Block from the following six (6) blocks.
- All 24 credit hours must be completed in the same Concentration Block, at the 300/400 level, and with a grade of “C” or better.
- Course options may be reviewed by selecting each concentration block below.
Enrichment Area (36 credit hours)
- Choose three (3) Enrichment Areas from the six (6) Concentration Blocks.
- One (1) Enrichment Area must be the same as the chosen Concentration Block.
- Twelve (12) credit hours are required in each of the three (3) Enrichment Areas chosen.

General Electives (18 credit hours)
One (1) three credit hour elective course must be designated as writing intensive, unless such a course is applied elsewhere in the curriculum. Selection of the writing intensive course and the minor area should be done in consultation with the academic advisor. Computer Literacy (3 credit hours)
Recommended completion in the Junior Year. - Choose from computer science (CMPS) or departmental approved computer literacy courses. Credit may be earned through a computer science proficiency exam.
