Students wishing to also be certified in Early Intervention will need to complete the following 5 courses with grades of “C” or better: SPED 405(G) , SPED 406(G) , SPED 414(G) , SPED 420(G) , and SPED 423(G) . These courses must be taken outside of the “blocked” classes to meet Louisiana State Department of Education Early Intervention certification requirements.

Praxis Exam Requirements: Students must pass the Praxis I PPST exams (Reading, Writing, Math) or submit an ACT composite score of 22 or higher. Students must also pass the Early Childhood content exam, 0014 and PLT exam 0621 prior to Student Teaching.
